I think there are a lot of reasons why people attend college or university. It is quite natural that the purpose of attending college or university is different from people. There are three main reasons, to learn new things, to make new friends and to prepare for career, I think. I would like to explain these reasons respectively.

First of all, some people attend college or university in order to learn new things. This must be the most common reason. They can learn a lot of new things there. They can learn, for example, physics, biology or linguistic profoundly which they couldn’t learn at high school. They can learn how to communicate with friends while they have a good time with new friends.
